places to visit

One of the best ways to learn and enjoy opals is by going out to see them. Now besides venturing out to far inland Australia to the mines themselves, One of the best places to visit for an educational perspective and look at some truly awe inspiring opals is the Brisbane Opal Museum in Queensland, Australia. Not only does this location have an exceptionally well curated and privately owned collection of opal specimens, there happens to be a Jewelry store in the middle of the museum. To take things even further, They have there own mine! (located in Opalton).

Australian Opal Jewelry, At this store you will only find Solid Natural Australian Opals, No Doublets, No Triplets.

As an opal fanatic the obscene quantity of high quality opals they have on offer is simply jaw dropping. I would never have expected to walk into a family friendly museum and end up holding over $100,000 worth of opals in a single hand, Truly a highlight moment in my life of obsessing over opals. Thank you to the staff at the Brisbane Opal Museum for showing me the big ones!
